Derryduff Farm, Dungiven

Description

This project involved the construction of a new milking parlour for a 200 cow dairy herd.  The project consisted of a below ground reinforced tank for the collection of slurry.  This was complete with a bubbling agitation system and slatted cover to provide lay down and feeding areas for the cattle.  A 3450 m2 steel frame portal shed with a mixture of cement fibre roofing and vented tin was erected to provide the outer shell of the building.  A ventilated roof ridge was installed to improve airflow through the house.  The building was constructed on a brownfield site and integrated into the existing farming unit to extend their existing facilities with minimal interruption to the farming processes. The project was completed on time and within budget.
